Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 5,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence through the latest Express Entry draw targeting candidates with French-language proficiency.
The draw was held on August 6, 2026, and candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 391 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
The CRS cut-off is the lowest recorded in any French-language Express Entry draw in 2026, falling below the previous low of 393, which was recorded on March 18.
The invitation round marks the third Express Entry draw in three consecutive days, following the Provincial Nominee Program draw on August 4 and the Canadian Experience Class draw on August 5.
IRCC has continued to use category-based selection to invite candidates who meet Canada’s labour market and immigration priorities. The French-language proficiency category is designed to attract French-speaking skilled workers who can contribute to Francophone communities across Canada.
Candidates who received an Invitation to Apply can now begin preparing their permanent residence application. They should ensure that all supporting documents are complete, accurate and submitted within the deadline specified by IRCC.
