Canada Invites 229 Physicians in Express Entry Draw With CRS Cut-Off of 198

Canada has issued 229 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in a new Express Entry draw targeting physicians with Canadian work experience.

The draw, held on September 3, 2026, at 11:18:08 UTC, recorded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score of 198, with candidates required to rank 229 or higher to receive an invitation.

The round was conducted under the Physicians with Canadian Work Experience, 2026-Version 1 category, one of the targeted routes available through Canada’s Express Entry system.

Alongside the 229 invitations issued, IRCC applied a tie-breaking rule of August 6, 2026, at 19:40:38 UTC. Where more than one candidate had the lowest qualifying CRS score of 198, priority was given to those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before that date and time.

With the draw focused specifically on physicians, the result also shows how targeted Express Entry rounds allow Canada to select candidates based on particular workforce needs.

What the Draw Means for Eligible Physicians

For physicians with qualifying Canadian work experience, the draw creates another opportunity to move closer to permanent residence through Express Entry.

The CRS cut-off of 198 reflects the targeted nature of the round, where candidates competed within a specific physician category rather than across the wider Express Entry pool.

Those who received an invitation must still submit a complete permanent residence application and meet all applicable Express Entry and category requirements.

Physicians who were not invited can use the result to assess their current profile and identify areas that may strengthen their position for future draws.
