Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 507 candidates to apply for permanent residence through the latest Express Entry draw targeting candidates with a provincial nomination.
The draw was held on August 4, 2026, and invited candidates who had received a nomination from a Canadian province or territory under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
To receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 768.
IRCC also applied a tie-breaking rule of May 15, 2026, at 3:58 p.m. UTC. This means that where multiple candidates had the minimum CRS score of 768, only those who submitted their Express Entry profile before that date and time received an invitation.
The Provincial Nominee Program allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate foreign nationals who have the skills, education and work experience needed to support local labour market needs. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination through an Express Entry-aligned stream are awarded an additional 600 CRS points, significantly increasing their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence.
Candidates who received an invitation in this round can now begin preparing their permanent residence application. They should ensure that all supporting documents are complete and submitted within the deadline specified by IRCC after receiving their invitation.
