communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Ontario Closes Eight Existing Immigration Streams<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the redesign, Ontario has closed eight existing OINP aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Master&#8217;s Graduate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PhD Graduate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Express Entry Human Capital Priorities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Express Entry Skilled Trades<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario has confirmed that the existing Expression of Interest (EOI) system is now closed to new registrations and that no further invitations will be issued under the former streams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EOIs and job offers that have not resulted in an invitation to apply will be withdrawn over the coming weeks as the province updates its EOI and application systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants, employers, and representatives affected by these changes will receive direct notifications from the province.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications already submitted following invitations issued under former streams will continue to be assessed under the eligibility requirements that were in place when those applications were filed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Ontario Workforce Priority Stream Expected to Open Later This Summer<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario has announced that the new <\/span><b>Ontario Workforce Priority Stream Expression of Interest system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is expected to open later in the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The province says the new stream will provide pathways for applicants with job offers across <\/span><b>all National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 occupations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The stream will also include a dedicated pathway for self-employed physicians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario says the redesign represents the first phase of a broader two-stage transformation of the OINP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The province expects the changes to help employers retain talent in hard-to-fill positions while introducing higher language and education standards for future nominees.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h2><b>TEER 0\u20133 Pathway<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The TEER 0\u20133 pathway will target internationally trained workers <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><b>all TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupations with a full-time and permanent job offer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Ontario.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants will generally need to demonstrate one of the following work experience requirements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 consecutive months of experience within the previous 12 months in the job offer position with the employer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 consecutive months of experience within the previous 12 months for recent Ontario graduates.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 years of cumulative experience within the previous 5 years in the same NOC occupation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Licensed occupations may be exempt from these work experience requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants will generally need to meet a minimum language requirement of <\/span><b>CLB 6<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, although some occupations may qualify with <\/span><b>CLB 5<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minimum education requirements include a post-secondary diploma or degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario has indicated that certain occupations may have alternate eligibility criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h2><b>Self-Employed Physicians\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most significant changes introduced under the redesign affects physicians.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-employed physicians may now qualify for the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream without requiring a job 400;\">Hold a valid certificate of registration in an eligible class.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be eligible to bill through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This change is expected to improve access to Permanent Residency pathways for physicians already practising in Ontario.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h2><b>TEER 4\u20135 Pathway<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario has also introduced a pathway for workers employed in TEER 4 and TEER 5 occupations <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with a full-time and permanent job offer in Ontario.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nine months of cumulative work experience within the previous two years in the position offered by the employer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A minimum language requirement of <\/span><b>CLB 4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Canadian secondary school diploma or its equivalent.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario has also announced lower employer revenue thresholds for businesses located in rural communities with populations below 150,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The province says these adjustments are intended to improve access to immigration pathways for employers outside major urban centres.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Program Integrity Measures Introduced<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The redesign also includes several compliance and enforcement changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ontario has reduced the response period for Notices of Intent to Issue Administrative Monetary Penalties or Ban Orders from <\/span><b>60 days to 30 days<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The province has also expanded the methods used to issue notices, allowing them to be
