This extra time will enable the Government of Quebec to review their eligibility for a\u00a0<strong>Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de s\u00e9lection du Qu\u00e9bec)<\/strong>\u00a0before they apply for permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>This measure is specifically for those who have received an invitation from Quebec to submit a\u00a0<strong>Demande de Selection Permanente (DSP)<\/strong>. It ensures that skilled workers remain employed while supporting targeted immigration efforts that strengthen the economy.<\/p>\n<h3>Supporting Rural Employers Across Canada<\/h3>\n<p>The federal government is also taking steps to help\u00a0<strong>rural employers meet labour needs<\/strong>. From\u00a0<strong>April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027<\/strong>, employers in participating provinces and territories can retain their current number of low-wage temporary foreign workers and increase the proportion from\u00a0<strong>10% to 15%<\/strong>.
