University Canada West (UCW) is offering a Regional Grant worth up to CAD $11,095 for eligible international MBA students starting in Fall 2026 and CAD $13,390 for those starting in Winter or Spring 2027.
For international students searching for scholarships and financial support to study in Canada, the University Canada West Regional Grant provides tuition support for eligible students admitted to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
The grant is awarded automatically to eligible students at the point of admission, which means a separate scholarship application is not required.
Here is what international students need to know about the UCW Regional Grant, its value, eligibility requirements and available 2026 and 2027 intakes.
What Is the University Canada West Regional Grant?
The University Canada West Regional Grant is an entrance award available to eligible international applicants admitted to the university’s Master of Business Administration program.
The award is provided as a tuition credit, meaning the money is applied toward the student’s tuition rather than paid directly to the student.
Eligible applicants do not need to submit a separate award application. UCW automatically considers students for the grant when they are admitted, provided they meet the applicable eligibility requirements.
How Much Is the UCW Regional Grant?
The value depends on when the student begins the MBA program.
For students starting in Fall 2026, the Regional Grant is worth:
CAD $11,095
For students starting in Winter 2027 or Spring 2027, the Regional Grant increases to:
CAD $13,390
This means eligible international MBA students beginning their studies in 2027 can receive more than CAD $13,000 in tuition support.
The final amount can, however, depend on the number of credits a student needs to complete the MBA program.
Students who receive transfer credits, including Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition credits, may have the value of their grant adjusted accordingly.
Which UCW Program Qualifies for the Regional Grant?
The Regional Grant applies specifically to the:
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
International students interested in other undergraduate or graduate programs at University Canada West should review the separate entrance scholarships, grants and awards available for those programs.
Eligibility for the UCW Regional Grant
The Regional Grant is open to international applicants admitted to the University Canada West MBA program.
Applicants holding only a conditional offer are not eligible to qualify for an award until they fulfil the conditions attached to their admission and receive full, unconditional admission.
Students must also meet the university’s requirements for receiving and retaining the award.
Requirements for the UCW Regional Grant
To remain eligible for the Regional Grant, the student must:
- Commence the program before the admission offer expires
- Remain in the same program
- Pay all fees not covered by the award by the required due dates
- Maintain good academic standing
- Maintain full-time enrolment status
The amount awarded may also be prorated based on the number of credits required to complete the MBA. If a student receives transfer credits, including PLAR credits, the value of the award may be adjusted.
How the UCW Regional Grant Is Paid
The Regional Grant is provided as a tuition credit.
Disbursements begin from the student’s first term of enrolment, with the grant primarily applied during the first year of the MBA program.
Students should still plan for tuition payments across both Year 1 and Year 2 because the way fees and grant credits are distributed may vary.
The student’s Offer Letter and Award Letter will provide the specific details that apply to their admission.
Online UCW Students and Award Eligibility
Students taking online programs are generally not eligible for UCW entrance awards, unless a particular award specifically states otherwise.
International students planning to benefit from the Regional Grant should therefore ensure that their study arrangement meets the conditions attached to the award.
Study Permit for International Students
International students planning to travel to Canada to study at University Canada West will generally need a Canadian study permit for a program lasting more than six months.
Receiving admission to UCW or qualifying for the Regional Grant does not automatically give a student permission to study in Canada.
Once the required admission documents are available, students can proceed with their Canadian study permit application and prepare the required supporting documents, including financial evidence, academic records, identity documents and other documents required for their circumstances.
The scholarship can form part of a student’s overall financial documentation, but applicants must still demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to meet the applicable study permit financial requirements.
Important Information Before Applying
University Canada West states that its scholarships, bursaries and awards are subject to change without prior notice.
The university may also withdraw an award if the allocated funding pool has been fully used by eligible applicants before the award period ends, unless the student has already received an official Letter of Acceptance.
International applicants interested in the Regional Grant should therefore avoid assuming that the award will remain available indefinitely simply because the relevant intake is still approaching.
Applying early and ensuring admission requirements are completed can be important.
