Nova Scotia offers a practical immigration pathway for international students who want to stay in Canada after completing their studies. One such option is the International Graduates in Demand stream, part of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP).
This stream is meant for recent international graduates who studied in Nova Scotia and are working in specific high-demand occupations. If approved, applicants can receive a provincial nomination and then apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.
What Is the International Graduates in Demand Stream?
The International Graduates in Demand stream helps Nova Scotia meet labour shortages in important sectors such as healthcare and early childhood education. It allows the province to nominate international graduates whose education and job experience match approved NOC occupations.
This stream is especially useful for graduates who already have a full-time, permanent job offer in Nova Scotia and want a clear path to PR.
Eligible Occupations (NOC Codes)
At present, applications are accepted only for the following occupations:
- NOC 32102 – Paramedical occupations
- NOC 32124 – Pharmacy technicians
- NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
- NOC 42202 – Early childhood educators and assistants
The job offer must be directly related to the applicant’s field of study completed in Nova Scotia.
